The University was concerned at increasing reports of financial distress affecting other Students’ Associations, and acted to ensure that similar difficulties did not occur with their own SA

The University engaged MDA to conduct a review and assessment of the Students’ Association, the SA management, working relationships with the University, finances, financial practices and commercial activities

We were asked to evaluate these, recommend improvements to them, and recommend alterations in the way commercial and administrative activities were organised, structured and managed

The overall purpose of the project was to generate revenue more effectively, and to provide greater structural and managerial coherence between the SA and the University
